Alastair Porter - Chairman
Alastair Porter is currently co-managing Director of Porter Group Ltd, a position he has held for more than 30 years.
He has held executive and non-executive directorships in marketing, property, retail, textile, and farming sectors and is a past deputy chairman of the New Zealand Game Industry Board. He has been involved in business activities located in Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Rotorua and Queenstown, and has travelled extensively for business to Australia, USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.
He has been part of Queenstown’s business community for more than 20 years as co-managing director of Remarkables Park Limited, Shotover Park Limited, Remarkables Park Deer Stud and other farming entities, and Porter Group retail companies including management of retail businesses in the Queenstown CBD and at Remarkables Park. He is also currently a steering group committee member of the Lakes District “Shaping Our Future” initiative.
Alastair has a B.Com is an ACA member of the NZ Society of Accountants, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a member of the Urban Land Institute of North America. His broad experience brings a wealth of knowledge to the role of Chairman of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce.
