Dear Member
It's great to be back at level 1, although our hearts went out to all those associated with events last week that needed to be cancelled. Not to imply that we are in the same league but your chamber team has been making its own sacrifices, including not making our lunches and avoiding cooking at home to show our support for our local hospitality industry. We are always happy to offer our services as mystery shoppers, so if you have a business you would like us to check out please let us know including whether or not you would like to hear about our experience. We have also been dutifully signing in everywhere we go and it is really good to see those businesses who have their QR codes at the counters as well as at the entrance. Tickets have started selling for the AWS Legal Fit For Business event and if you would like to participate with your team, you can take advantage of our buy 3, get a 4th ticket free offer. If you have some time this Friday lunchtime we have Ben Harvey-Lovell from the Vodafone leadership team, presenting a webinar on implementing remote working in workplaces of all sizes. He will provide insights into leading teams who work remotely, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with "free range" working. No chickens please. On a more serious note, we will be releasing the results of the business confidence survey separately to members tomorrow. We will be running this survey each quarter, with the next coming out in early May. Also the Otago Climate Change Risk Assessment - link here was released this week by the Otago Regional Council. Dr Palmer and his team have done a great job in putting together the first regional dataset of climate change related risks and opportunities. This work provides us with a strong evidence base to support future adaptation programmes and initiatives and the ability to monitor their effectiveness. Take care Ruth
