The Resource Management Act regime is due for a major shake-up, with the complete replacement of the RMA with 3 new pieces of legislation likely to be introduced in 2022, and replacement of the over 100 district and regional plans in the country with only 14.

The ambitious reforms aim to not only make processes more efficient, but also to better enable necessary infrastructure and housing supply while also halting ongoing trends of degradation in areas such as biodiversity and water quality.

In this presentation Maree Baker-Galloway Partner at Anderson Lloyd provides an overview on the basics of what is in the pipeline and its implications for the district over the next 5 – 10 years.
