Queenstown Airport Women in Business Morning Tea: Amy MacCormack
Amy is an ‘event guru’ with over 20 years’ experience working and leading in the event sector. Amy has spent time working in senior roles on some of the worlds’ largest events from Commonwealth Games delivery to the summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. Amy is not only a master at events but balances life as mum to four young children, who when the youngest were born, had four children under the age of four due to being surprised with identical twins! Amy and her husband Ben juggle life with their beautiful family but have also run in to plenty of heartache. When Amy and Ben found out they were expecting child number two they were told their unborn child had significant heart defects and their baby would possibly not survive or have significant disabilities due to the complications. Their daughter Marley, now 7 years old has not only survived but beaten the odds of survival and thriving.
Recently, Amy joined IRONMAN Oceania as the Regional Director of NZ and is responsible for overseeing six events across the region: Auckland Marathon, Queenstown Marathon, Tarawera Ultramarathon by UTMB, Hawke’s Bay Marathon, IRONMAN New Zealand and IRONMAN 70.3 Taupo.”
