Seminar: Protecting Mental Wellbeing at Work with Dr Hillary Bennett
The Business Leaders’ Health and Safety Forum and the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce is pleased to bring you a 90-minute session for business owners, directors and managers focusing on protecting mental wellbeing in your business. The session will be followed by a light lunch.
We know that 50 years of global research into natural disasters makes it clear that a hidden pandemic of mental distress follows major crises – something already being seen as we continue to manage Covid-19. We also know that CEOs and business leaders set the tone for how work is done, and play a critical role in driving policies and practices that promote or undermine wellbeing.
We are delighted to bring you Dr Hillary Bennett, an organisational psychologist with more than two decades experience in supporting workplaces to thrive; to support you and your organisation to disrupt, re-focus or build on the work you have underway to support the wellbeing of your people and stakeholders, as well as encouraging you to spot and manage any blind spots.
Dr Bennett will also walk you through the Forum’s new Protecting Mental Wellbeing guide and how it could be used to identify the work-related risk factors that cause mental harm, and help to design ‘good work’ by integrating protective factors that support and enhance mental wellbeing at work.
Dr Hillary Bennett is a director of Leading Safety, a consultancy specialising in the leadership of safety and wellbeing, the assessment and development of safety and wellbeing culture, human factors, and workplace health and safety. She is a registered psychologist and has 39 years’ experience in consulting to organisations, both large and small, in the private and public sector. In 2019, she received the SafeGuard lifetime achievement award for her pioneering work in health & safety leadership and in the forestry sector in New Zealand. In 2020, she was the WorkSafe NZ Acting Lead for Mentally Healthy Work.
This seminar is complimentary for members.
